Privacy Policy

What we collect when you visit this site or contact us, why we collect it, and how to opt out.

This policy explains what Ellis Wyatt Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical (“Ellis Wyatt,” “we,” “us”) does with information collected through elliswyattmep.com. We’ve written it in plain English because a privacy policy nobody can read isn’t much of a privacy policy.

Who we are

Ellis Wyatt Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical is a licensed plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical contractor based at 3246 Centennial Blvd Suite 287, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. We are responsible for the information described below.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you fill out a contact or quote form, call us, or email us, we collect what you choose to send: your name, phone number, email address, service address if you provide one, and whatever you write in the message field.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site or ad that sent you here, and the date and time of your visit. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.

How we use it

  • To respond to service requests, schedule work, and follow up on quotes.
  • To understand how people find and use the site so we can improve it.
  • To measure whether our advertising is working — specifically, whether an ad led to a phone call or a form submission.
  • To keep normal business records and meet legal and tax obligations.

Cookies and tracking tools we use

We use a handful of third-party tools. Each one is listed here with what it actually does.

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tells us how many people visit the site, which pages they read, how long they stay, and roughly where they are located. It sets cookies in your browser to recognize returning visits. We use it for aggregate traffic reporting, not to identify you personally.

Google Ads conversion tracking

We advertise on Google. Google Ads conversion tracking lets us see when a click on one of our ads turns into a phone call or a form submission. It sets cookies for that purpose.

Dynamic phone number swap: if you arrive at this site from a Google ad, the phone number displayed on the page may be replaced with a different tracking number. Calls to that number ring straight through to us exactly like the main line — the only difference is that Google can attribute the call to the ad you clicked. If you arrive any other way, you see our standard number, (719) 747-6466.

Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity records how visitors interact with the site. That includes session recordings and heatmaps: mouse movement, clicks and taps, scrolling, and which pages you viewed and in what order. We use it to find confusing layouts and broken pages. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not review recordings looking for personal details.

Formspree

Contact and quote forms on this site are processed by Formspree. When you submit a form, Formspree receives what you typed and emails it to us. It handles delivery only — the information is used to reply to you.

Google Click Identifier (_gclid) cookies

When you click one of our Google ads, Google appends a click identifier (a “GCLID”) to the web address. Our site stores that value in a cookie named _gclid for 90 days, along with two companion cookies: _gclid_landing (the page you landed on) and _gclid_ts (the date and time you arrived).

If you later submit a form, those values are included with the submission so we can tell which ad produced the inquiry. That is the only thing they are used for. They contain no name, phone number, or email address.

We do not sell your information

We don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers named above, who process it on our behalf, and with anyone we’re legally required to share it with — for example, in response to a valid legal request.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries and service records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet ordinary business, warranty, tax, and legal record-keeping needs. Analytics and advertising data is retained according to each provider’s own retention settings.

Your choices and how to opt out

  • Browser cookie settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking them stops most of the tracking described above. Some parts of the site may work less smoothly.
  • Google Ads settings. You can turn off ad personalization in your Google account settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
  • Do Not Track. Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is still no agreed industry standard for how sites should respond to it, so this site does not currently change its behavior based on that signal. The cookie controls above are the reliable way to limit tracking.
  • Ask us. Email or call us and we’ll delete the contact information you’ve given us, unless we need to keep it for a job in progress or a legal obligation.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send us sensitive information such as payment card numbers or government ID numbers through a web form.

Children’s privacy

This site is for adults arranging home and commercial services. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change the tools we use or how we handle information, we’ll update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top.
